A day on which I didn’t leave the building. Shame on me. I spent quite a bit of time at my desktop computer. It is a Mac Mini, late model with the M4 silicon, and a 27-inch screen. Significantly better environment for any kind of media work than my laptop.
First I did the accounting, where I enter the previous month’s values from the various accounts that comprise my nest egg, into a spreadsheet. It was -2% on the month, but still +2% on the year. Which means? Whatever. I just like to have the numbers laid out neatly. Marian started that spreadsheet 20 years ago and I’ll keep it going.
Then I turned to the “Camera Uploads” folder of the Dropbox. Whenever I take what I think is a good picture (almost always with the phone; the Nikon D5500 gathers dust mostly), I upload it to Camera Uploads. Periodically I go through and process the pics–tweak them, crop them, whatever–and move them into dedicated sub-folders in the Pictures folder of the desktop machine. Where nobody will ever look at them, so why do I do it? Have a picture.
