Slept in a little bit, 7:30, went downstairs for a real breakfast which I don’t usually do. Diddled around until 1, then put on my red shirt and went to the museum. I had been warned that there was an important donor and member of the museum board planning to take the 2pm tour, which is exactly why I signed up for it. Goodly crowd, maybe 35 people at the start, and most of them stuck with me to the end, and gave me a nice round of applause. So I done good by the museum, hopefully impressing the donor/board member with the quality of our volunteers.
Driving home I was thinking about logistics for tonight. I have a ticket to see Shemekia Copeland at SFJazz, same general timing as last night. I was working over which Caltrain to take, and thinking about getting back after 11pm and walking home from the station. Then I thought, well, I could drive myself… but I really didn’t want to do that either. So I decided to bag this concert. I have another on Sunday — somehow the three concerts I was willing to pay to see, all came on consecutive days — and I will definitely go to that, but it is in the afternoon which makes a big difference.
So I wimped out and didn’t go to the concert. Waste of good bucks. Too bad.
Oh, about the day number? Day one of the new blog year should be the 2nd. Somewhere I must have slipped, got off by one. So this year will have a day 5.366. Maybe this was a leap year?
